About this site
The MOJ 'Ideas' platform is an open space for people to share views, explore ideas and take part in constructive conversations about how the justice system works and how it could be improved.
The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) recognises that justice affects individuals and communities in many different ways. We want to hear from a broad range of voices, including members of the public, justice professionals, legal experts, service users, and others with lived experience or specialist knowledge. Your contribution helps us understand diverse experiences, test new thinking and shape better outcomes across policy and services.
Why this matters
Dialogue goes beyond simply collecting suggestions – it is about listening, learning and shaping change. By bringing different perspectives into conversation, we can:
- identify real-world issues and priorities
- surface practical, innovative solutions
- understand potential impacts of new ideas before they are put into practice
- build transparency and trust in how decisions are made
This platform supports two-way engagement and helps connect people’s experiences with the work of the Ministry. MOJ’s broader engagement activities also include consultations, calls for evidence and targeted stakeholder dialogue alongside this platform.
How it works
On this site you can:
- submit your ideas on topics that matter
- read and comment on ideas from others
- engage in focused discussions where relevant
Some discussions will be linked to specific workstreams or themes, others may be more open and exploratory. Where appropriate, outcomes from dialogue may feed into policy development, service design or broader departmental thinking.
What we do with your input
All contributions are reviewed by MOJ teams with responsibility for the relevant topics. Ideas are considered on their merits and where they highlight opportunities for improvement, may help inform policy development and improvements.
Our standards
This platform is intended to be respectful, inclusive and constructive. We encourage open discussion while maintaining standards that support positive engagement for everyone. Content that does not meet these principles may be moderated in line with our Moderation Policy.
